Suzanne Somers, care a interpretat rolul Chrisei Snow, blonda veselă din sitcomul TV “Three’s Company,” a murit la vârsta de 76 de ani.

Actrița, autoarea de bestseller-uri și antreprenoare a decedat duminică dimineața înconjurată de familia ei, a declarat publicistul ei de lungă durată, R. Couri Hay, într-un comunicat, potrivit USA Today.

Trecerea ei în neființă s-a produs chiar cu o zi înainte să împlinească 77 de ani. Familia urma să se adune și să sărbătorească ziua ei de naștere. “Ei vor sărbători viața ei extraordinară și le vor mulțumi milioanelor de fani și urmăritori care au iubit-o profund și au fost alături de ea,” a declarat publicistul ei.

Cântărețul și compozitorul Barry Manilow i-a adus un omagiu lui Somers.

“Suzanne și cu mine am fost prieteni timp de zeci de ani. A fost sora pe care nu am avut-o niciodată. Am fost alături unul de altul la necaz și bucurie. A fost unul dintre cei mai mari actori de comedie, o mamă iubitoare, o gospodină extraordinară și una dintre cele mai bune bucătărese din lume. Îmi va lipsi foarte mult și sper că acum nu mai suferă și este în pace,” a spus el într-o declarație acordată duminică revistei People.

Somers, născută la 16 octombrie 1946, a interpretat rolul lui Chrissy Snow în serialul de televiziune “Three’s Company” timp de cinci din cele opt sezoane, înainte de a fi concediată din cauza unei dispute legate de salariu. După o pauză în cariera sa de actriță, s-a întors la începutul anilor 1990 în serialul “Step by Step”.

Ulterior, a devenit co-prezentatoare la emisiunea “Candid Camera”, a avut propriul ei talk-show numit “The Suzanne Show” și a participat la emisiunea “Dancing with the Stars”.

La vârsta de 50 de ani, Suzanne a fost diagnosticată pentru prima dată cu o formă agresivă de cancer la sân și a anunțat pe rețelele de socializare în luna iulie că boala a revenit.
