President Nicușor Dan made statements on Tuesday evening at 18:00 at Cotroceni Palace, following the adoption of a no-confidence motion that led to the dismissal of the government led by Ilie Bolojan.
“The government was dismissed today by Parliament. It is not a happy moment in any democracy. However, it is a democratic decision of Parliament. I call for calm. Romania is a stable state, state institutions are functioning, and Romania has a direction it continues to follow,” the President said.
He emphasized that there is consensus among pro-Western parties on major national directions, including Romania’s Euro-Atlantic orientation, accession to the OECD, and budgetary targets for 2026 and subsequent years.
