Bucharest National Opera Orchestra to perform in Vienna in honour of Romania National Day

The Bucharest National Opera Orchestra will perform on November 26 at Vienna’s Das MuTh Hall in celebration of Romania’s National Day.

Conducted by maestro Daniel Jinga and featuring international soprano Oana Serban as soloist, the concert includes a select repertoire of well-known universal and Romanian waltzes by Johann Strauss Jr., Johann Strauss Sr., Eduard Strauss, Richard Strauss, Fritz Kreisler, Iosif Ivanovici, Eugen Doga, George Grigoriu, Ciprian Porumbescu and others, the Bucharest National Opera House said in a release.

According to the cited source, this musical gala inaugurates a series of events dedicated to the celebration of Romania’s National Day in the cultural heart of Vienna. A thrilling recital is scheduled for the next day, November 27, at the historic Börsenhalle located on the famous Ringstrasse boulevard. A select ensemble of the Bucharest National Opera House will perform the national anthems of Romania and Austria, as well as famous waltzes such as The Danube Waves and The Blue Danube, the source said.

Das MuTh Hall, the venue of the event, is Vienna’s most modern concert hall, inaugurated in 2012. It is a vibrant cultural hub, home to the renowned Vienna Boys’ Choir and hosting over 300 events annually, from chamber music and children’s opera to jazz and contemporary dance projects.
