Chargé d’affaires Michael Dickerson: “Thank you for the invitation today – not only to help open the Atlantic Council’s new office today, but also to talk about the importance of America’s diplomatic relationship with Romania. For almost 30 years, the United States and Romania have been long-standing strategic partners and allies, to the benefit of both of our countries. The U.S.-Romania strategic partnership has led to great success in defense, security, economic, intelligence, and law enforcement cooperation, as well as in expanding our educational and cultural ties.

As Secretary Rubio has stated, the way foreign policy works best is when our national interests are aligned. When they’re aligned, that’s where we have incredible opportunity for partnership together.
