Romania will play in Group E at the EURO 2024 Final Tournament in Germany.
On Saturday, December 2nd, Romania was drawn to play against the two national teams and against the team that will qualify after playoff B. Play-off B is disputed among four national teams: Israel – Iceland and Bosnia-Ukraine. The winners will play in the play-off final and qualify for the final tournament.
Thus, Romania could face Israel once more after beating them away in Hungary in November.
The decisive games in the playoffs will be played in the spring of 2024. Romania will debut at the competition and play its first game on June 17, in Munich, against Play-off winner B.
Romania is relatively approachable if we are to believe the football experts. Also, Romania came after winning Qualifying Group I, significantly improving the national team’s morale. Even so, Belgium is an excellent team with excellent players. Still, specialists say Belgium is one of the most approachable to play with and to hope for a positive result from all the best European teams selected in POT 1 during the final draw. Slovakia, on the other hand, is easier to play against.
Also, Romania has played against Israel, Bosnia, and Iceland in official matches. Romania lost 3-4 in a friendly in 2016, the last time the Romanian team played against Ukraine. Things have improved for Romania since that defeat, so overall, the team has a good chance in Group E.
