FPIOR: ISU regulations represent one of the biggest threats to HoReCa at the moment

The Federation of Employers in Romania’s Hospitality Industry (FPIOR) has expressed deep concern over the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations’ (ISU) intention to lower the surface area threshold for mandatory fire safety authorization from 600 sqm to 200 sqm.

While FPIOR acknowledges the need to modernize the legislative framework following the 2015 tragedy, the federation emphasizes that the effectiveness of new regulations cannot be achieved through disproportionate and non-consultative measures, which risk halting the activity of thousands of businesses and directly impacting Romania’s tourism potential.
