Message from His Excellency Mr Hiroshi UEDA, Ambassador of Japan, on the occasion of the National Day of Romania
Communication Addressed to the Diplomatic and Business Daily, Nine O’Clock, by His Excellency Mr. Hiroshi Ueda, Ambassador of Japan, Marking the National Day of Romania
Dear Romanians,
Congratulations on National Day! Since my arrival here, I have been impressed by the hospitality and openness of the Romanians. Romania is a stable country, an important member of the EU and NATO and shares same values with Japan.
I am very happy to represent Japan in Romania during the most prolific period of relations between our countries.
This March, Japan and Romania signed the Strategic Partnership, the highest level of diplomatic relations of two countries.
In July this year, the bridge over the Danube in Braila was inaugurated with the major contribution of a Japanese company. Furthermore, construction is expected to start on the M6 metro line in Bucharest, co-financed by a Japanese loan. Japanese companies have a strong presence in Romania.
I was also happily surprised by the popularity that Japanese culture enjoys across generations in Romania.
All these are genuine and robust bridges built between our countries. We are confident that this trend will continue, and we want to assure our Romanian friends of all our openness.
Last but not least, we applaud the admirable support given by the Romanians and by Romania to the hard-pressed Ukraine.
Happy National Day, dear Romanians!
Happy National Day, Romania!
I would also like to wish you good health, joy and happy holidays with your loved ones!
Ambassador of Japan to Romania
Hiroshi Ueda
