National Photography Salon “Fotogeografica 2023” opens at National Library of Romania

The National Photography Salon “Fotogeografica 2023” opened on Thursday at the National Library of Romania, an event during which the competition prizes were awarded, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.
The winners of Fotogeografica will participate in the Romania Student Tour project, a national programme created to rediscover and promote the values of Romania’s national heritage and the produce the album “On the Royal Paths of Transylvania” – a homage volume on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the first visit of Prince Charles, the current King of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to Romania – ambassador of Romania’s natural and cultural riches, the source said.
In the Open Category, cultural heritage section, the winners were First Prize – Marian Plaino, “Ingeri si Sfinti” (Sugatag, Maramures County), Second Prize – Gabriel Motica. “Joc la Sura in Tara Lapusului” (Maramures County) and 3rd Prize – Zsolt Bikfalvi, “Nunta la Marin” (Marin village, Salaj County).
The winners in the natural landscape section were: First Prize – Chirobocea Stefan, “Pace absoluta” (Ciucas Mountains), Second Prize – Sasu Mircea, “Schita de iarna” (Reci Forest, Covasna County) and the third prize – Soare Laurentiu, “Texturi hibernale” (Ciucas Mountains), and in the wildlife section, the winners were Attila Babos, “Urs la apus” (Zabala, Covasna County), Tudor Gabriel Dominte, “In roata” (Bucovina County) and Gabriel Rusu, “Magic sunrise” (Mila 23, Tulcea County).
In the category pupils/students, cultural heritage section, the winners were 1st Prize – Vlad Paulet,” Pastoral” (Dumesti, Alba County), 2nd Prize – Alexandra Grigore, “Biertan” (Biertan, Brasov County) and 3rd Prize – Alexandra Grigore, “Zgomot” (Bucovina County).
In the natural landscape section Vlad Paulet won all the prizes of the section with his photographs “The Couple” (Ciucas Mountains), “Mystical” (Dumesti, Alba County) and “Red Vortex” (Ciucas Mountains), and in the wildlife section the winners were Medeea Buzoianu, First Prize, “Pe furits” (Piatra Craiului Mountains), Second Prize. Vlad Paulet “High Protein Breakfast” (Danube Delta) and Third Prize – David Mateiciuc, “Corobatura alba hranind puiul” (Lepsa, Vrancea County).
The jury of the edition was composed of Ana Dumitru, Claudia Tanasescu, Dragos Lumpan for the cultural heritage section, Daniel Mirlea, Gheorghe Popa, Zoltan Gergely Nagy for the landscape section, and Alexandra Ion, Gabriel Serban, Silviu Matei for the wildlife section. The honorary president was Cristian Lascu.
The National Photography Salon “Fotogeografica 2023” will remain open until October 17 and brings together a selection of more than 2,000 photographs entered by 326 participants from all over the country. The online exhibition “Fotogeografica 2023” can be viewed at www.fotogeografica.ro.
November 6 to 20, the National Photography Salon “Fotogeografica will be presented at the West University of Timisoara, as part of Timisoara “European Capital of Culture 2023” programme.
