Premierul israelian Benjamin Netanyahu a promis duminică să “demoleze Hamas”, în timp ce trupele sale se pregăteau să intre în Fâșia Gaza în urmărirea militanților islamiști, notează Reuters.

Israelul le-a cerut locuitorilor din Gaza să evacueze sudul, ceea ce sute de mii de oameni au făcut deja în enclava în care locuiesc peste 2 milioane de persoane.

În Gaza asediată, unde condițiile se deteriorează și unde numărul deceselor cauzate de loviturile aeriene israeliene este în creștere, civilii au declarat că nu sunt în siguranță nicăieri. Gruparea militantă Hamas, care conduce Gaza, le-a spus să ignore mesajul Israelului de a se deplasa spre sud.

Liderii arabi au subliniat necesitatea de a proteja civilii din Gaza.

Aripa armată a Hamas, Brigăzile Al Qassam, a declarat că a tras 20 de rachete din Liban asupra a două așezări israeliene, în timp ce miliția libaneză Hezbollah, susținută de Iran, a declarat că a tras rachete asupra cazărmii israeliene din Hanita și că a provocat victime.
