Pumpkin carving marathon and creative workshops, at Titan Pumpkin Fest, October 20-22

The pumpkin festival, Titan Pumpkin Fest, takes place in the Capital from today until Sunday, October 22.

People of Bucharest of all ages are expected in Titan Park (with the entrance from Strada Liviu Rebreanu, Calul Titanilor), for an authentic autumn celebration, where the star is the pumpkin.

Entry to the event is free. The festival includes three areas, the creative workshop area, the performance area and the area dedicated to designers and artisans.

The event aims to create a context in which Halloween, so loved by the little ones, perfectly intertwines with Romanian art and traditions, building together a cultural alternative for spending free time in the middle of nature.

Hundreds of carved pumpkins and workshops with a Halloween atmosphere

A real marathon of carving and decorating pumpkins will take place in the artistic area, at the creativity workshops within the festival. The schedule of workshops is:

– Friday, October 20, 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

– Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Adults and children are also welcome to other fun and interactive activities during these workshops. These include:

• creative recycling – Halloween masks with traditional Romanian motifs
• recycling of plastic bottles and their transformation into toys;
• ceramic painting and sand drawings;
• makeup paintings with models specific to the Halloween holiday;
• henna tattoos and colored pigtails with braids;
• textile design that also includes painting with traditional Romanian motifs;
• slime modeling.

“Horror” moments at the Halloween costume parade

Titan Pumpkin Fest will begin on Halloween. So on Saturday 21 October and 22 October at 4 pm, the little ones are invited to bring their ‘scary’ costumes and take to the big stage in Titan Park for a parade of terrifying characters, reminiscent of the famous holiday that occurs annually on October 31.

Witches’ dances take over the festival stage

The Pumpkin Festival is a celebration for people of all ages who want to have fun at workshops and through music. They will be able to participate, in the stage area, in the “witches’ dances”, real flashmobs supported by children and adults from different dance schools.

During the weekend, DJ Vasile and Marinov will perform on the Titan Pumpkin Fest stage, and in the evening jazz, indie-rock, folk will be played with the bands Corina Sîrghi and We Singing Colors.

The area for lovers of objects created by designers

The pumpkin festival is also dedicated to those who want to admire and buy the creations of Romanian designers and artisans. Thus, there will be an area where skilled artists, designers and artisans will exhibit their jewelry and accessories, clothes, lavender-based products, 3D printed products, children’s books and toys, cosmetics and other ingenious handmade products.

The central theme of the exhibition is, of course, the pumpkin.

Titan Pumpkin Fest is an event organised by the Creative Arts & Events Association and financed by non-refundable funds from the local budget by the City Hall of Sector 3 Bucharest.
