In the run up to Romania’s National Day, the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at Rome’s Sinopoli Hall – Parco della Musica Auditorium on November 27, and then on November 29 and 30 at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, in a bid to mark not only the celebration of Romanian statehood, but also the 155th anniversary of the prestigious orchestral institution. Principal conductor Leo Hussain will be on the podium for all three concerts, and cellist Andrei Ionita will play as soloist. On the bill are works by George Enescu, Joseph Haydn, Richard Strauss and Gyorgy Ligeti.
