Romania Urged by European Commission to Reprioritize Investments Amid Growing Budgetary Pressure

Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare has stated that the European Commission has informed Romania of the need to reprioritize investments in order to comply with the budgetary limits assumed for 2025–2026, when pressure on the state budget is expected to be high.

The announcement followed high-level discussions with representatives of the European Commission (EC), during which key economic and fiscal topics were addressed.

Minister Nazare emphasized that the EC delivered a clear message: in the face of growing budgetary pressure, Romania must reassess and adjust its current investment priorities.
