Türkiye’s Gastrodiplomacy Model: Table and Heritage
ANTAKYA, HATAY – Türkiye’s southeastern province of Hatay hosted the international programme “Sofra ve Miras” (Table and Heritage) on June 18–19, 2026, bringing together government officials, academics, chefs, tourism professionals and members of the international media to explore the growing role of gastronomy in cultural diplomacy.
Organized by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications as part of Turkish Cuisine Week 2026, held under the patronage of First Lady Emine Erdoğan, the event highlighted how culinary heritage can serve as a strategic instrument for cultural outreach, tourism promotion and international engagement.
